More road widening in the works

GAINESVILLE - Public meetings even more road widening projects in Hall and two adjacent counties are on tap - both later this month.

A meeting May 22 in the Community Room at the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Center will explore plans to widen Georgia 53 between I-85 in Jackson County and Tanners Mill Road in Hall County.

Then, on May 31, at Lanier Elementary School near Murrayville, plans for widening Georgia 60 between Price Road in Hall County and Georgia Highway 400 in Lumpkin County will be discussed.

Plans for both projects are in the very early stages, according to state DOT spokeswoman Teri Pope.

Both meetings are planned for two hours, each starting at 5 p.m.
