COLUMBUS, Ohio - Hall and Forsyth counties are included in a study of the impact of development on agriculture. <br>

According to the Ohio State University Web site, the Hall-Forsyth area is one of six targeted nationwide by OSU and Utah State University as "selected case counties." The other areas are Shelby and Spencer counties, KY; Frederick County, MD; Kent County, MI; Cache County, UT; and, Yamhill County, OR.<br>
<br>
Scores of other counties are included as "project study counties." In all, the study involves 600 counties around the country.<br>
<br>
The project is intended to help identify the challenges and opportunities faced by rapid growth areas that have "economically important agricultural sectors."<br>
<br>
According to the Web site, research teams are currently compiling personal interviews and preparing to conduct landowner surveys.<br>
<br>
Titled "Agricultural Adaptation in the Rural-Urban Fringe: Can Communities make a Difference?" the project is funded by the USDA National Research Initiative (NRI) Rural Development Program.<br>
