Supreme Court to hear Hall double murder case

ATLANTA - The state Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments in a five-year-old Hall County murder case Tuesday.

According to the court's Web site, pre-trial motoions in the case of Ignacio Vergara are to be heard at 10:00, who is facing a possible death penalty for a drug-related double murder.

The murders occurred March 13 2005 near Flowery Branch.

The victims - Franceso Mendoza Saucedo, 25, of Buford and Alejandra Santana, 26, of Duluth - were found shot to death in a car on Bragg Road.

Brigido Soto Garcia and Uriel Ignacio Vergara, both of Flowery Branch, were arrested 13 days later at their homes and charged with the slayings. Soto has since pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against Vergara.
