Basketball: Falcons rout Buford in season opener

FLOWERY BRANCH - The Flowery Branch boys basketball team outscored Buford 38-5 in the second and third quarters to beat Buford 70-29 Tuesday night in its home opener.

The game was close after the first quarter with the Falcons (1-0) leading just 15-12. But Flowery branch exploded in the final three quarters to pull away from the Wolves.

Flowery branch was led Ishmael Hollis with 17 points. Brian Welchel and Kyle Smith each had 12 for the Falcons.

Kyle Kellem had seven points and Tyler Bailey five to lead Buford.
