"Crews were able to access the fire area at the end of Joe Parker Road and had to walk in," Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said.
About 3 acres were scorched. About 10 old tires burned as well. The fire department was alerted after getting calls about smoke in the area.
The fire created a lot of smoke, and the Georgia Forestry Commission was called in.
"They cut a fire break around the area. The fire extended over into the pile of tires," Kimbrell added.
