Jim Herold will serve on the authority until August, filling the remaining term of a member who is leaving the city. The vote was not unanimous.
Craig Lutz wanted to review development authority candidates, and wanted them to submit resumes.
"I would really would like to see more and hear more before I make a decision as to which person," Lutz said.
Council agreed to ask for resumes and more background when it's time to decide on four new authority members in August, but not now, and Lutz cast a 'no' vote.
STORM WATER ISSUES
Flowery Branch council members approved City Manager Bill Andrew's recommendation to head off a waste water system problem brought on by construction at Winder Highway and Martin Road.
Andrew asked for $12,000 for a 'wet well' to handle storm water overflow at the Martin Road lift station.
"That is part of the issue that is causing some of the construction to perhaps open up some sewer lines that shouldn't be open," Andrew said.
Andrew said he expects the county to reimburse the city for the wet well; he said the well gives the city more time to find a permanent solution.
