MACON -- Kammeon Holsey scored 18 points and Hancock Central held on for a 49-45 win over Turner County in the Class A state championship game.

The Bulldogs (30-2) claimed their first title in school history on Saturday. It's also the school's first crown since the baseball team earned one over 20 years ago.

Trailing by two points with six seconds left, Turner County (28-5) could have taken the lead on a 3-point attempt by Todd Lawson. But his shot missed and the rebound went to Tacowan Fluellen, who was fouled and made two free throws to put the game away.

James Watkins and Jontarius Stanton each scored 10 points for Hancock Central.
Marquis Jackson led Turner County with 14 points. Tray Pearce and Champ Spikes had 10 points apiece.
