Class AAA girls: Fourth time the charm for Kendrick (3/8)

MACON -- Muia Myrick scored 24 points and Janae McKinney added 16 to lead Kendrick to a 79-67 win over Carrollton in the Class AAA girls state championship on Saturday.<br /> <br /> Kendrick won its first state title after four straight appearances to the final four.<br /> <br /> Carrollton pulled within three points with 1:52 left in the third quarter on a 3-pointer by Brittany Wiley. But the Cherokees followed with nine straight points over a 40-second span, sparked by Myrick's three-point conversion.<br /> <br /> Kendrick also had an 11-0 run in the first half, which helped them claim a 33-30 lead at halftime.
