New principals for Hall County schools

GAINESVILLE - Hall County School Board members filled three elementary school principal vacancies Monday night, two of them with local assistant principals who are moving up.

Whitfield County principal Connie Daniels was hired as Mount Vernon's principal.

Matt Alexander from Chicopee Woods fills the principal's slot at Lula. Pat Tilson from Tadmore is moving to Lyman Hall as principal, according to Dr. Richard Hill, assistant superintendent for personnel.

"We cast a very wide net in advertising for these three principal vacancies at Lula, Lyman Hall and Mount Vernon," Hill said. " We ended up with 120 applications for these three schools."

Hill said he now has assistant vacancies at Chicopee Woods and Tadmore, plus South Hall Middle School and Myers Elementary.
