MURRAYVILLE - The Class AAA seventh-ranked North Hall girls soccer team was pushed to the limit Wednesday by West Hall but escaped with a 1-0 win at Tne Brickyard in Region 7-AAA action.

North Hall (8-0-1, 6-0 in region) was held scoreless in the first half by the scrappy Lady Spartan defense. North Hall launched 11 shots in the first half, but none came close to the net. The Lady Spartans were limited to only two shots on goal as the first half ended in a 0-0 deadlock.

The Lady Trojans picked up the pace in the second half. Midway through the second half, North Hall's senior leadership stepped up as Sarah Carlton crossed a pass to Laura Lane who punched it in for the game's only score.

West Hall's offense had six shots on goal. Lady Spartan goal keeper Ashlee Morris had a stellar performance with eight saves.

The North Hall defense recorded its seventh shutout of the season. North Hall next will travel to Chestatee on Friday at 6 p.m.

West Hall (7-6-1, 4-3) is off until playing host to Chestatee on Thursday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m.
