OAKWOOD - Little two wheel riders at the Academy Child Development center in Oakwood staged their own version of Tour de Georgia Friday.

It was more like 'Tour de Parking Lot,' actually, with 72 kids from age 2 and up peddling away on tricycles and bikes with training wheels.

It was the 2nd Annual Trike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

According to director Staci Vinton, the children had a good time and learned how to be safe.

"The kids learn about safety and that's something they can take home," Vinton said.

Vinton said this year's event raised more than $1,900 for St. Jude Hospital, which was more than last year.
