AAA: Gas prices dip slightly in Ga.

UNDATED - Gas prices across Georgia were down Thursday from Wednesday's prices, but not by much.

According to AAA, the average statewide price for regular declined a tenth of a penny to $4.01 a gallon.

The auto club and the Oil Information Service said the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular was $4.06.

Diesel prices in Georgia are headed toward the $5.00 barrier the fuel averaged $4.78 a gallon.

According to AAA's daily survey, the highest average price for regular was found in Athens at $4.04 a gallon. The Augusta-Aiken area had the cheapest average price for regular $3.95 a gallon.

GasBuddy.com says that in the immediate Gainesville area, the highest pump price it has found is $4.09 at an outlet in Buford. In Hall County, one location on Browns Bridge Road and one in Flowery Branch on Friendship Road are each charging $4.09 also.
