That topic will be covered in a series of six workshops in Hoschton starting this week as part of the town's effort to set a new Guinness World Record for the most scarecrows in one area.
Hoschton announced several weeks ago plans to have 4,000-plus scarecrows in place later this year in hopes of breaking the record.
Now, they are going to teach you how to make one in hopes you'll contribute to the 2008 Scarecrow Stampede.
This week's workshops are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Braselton Antique Mall.
The others are at the Historic Hoschton Depot, July 21 at 6:30 p.m., and Towne Center Shopping Center, July 12 and Aug. 9 from 5-8 p.m.
The Hoschton Fall Festival Committee and the Hoschton Women's Civic Club and organizers say if you have any of the following items, please bring them with you to the workshops: plastic grocery bags; old jewelry; old clothes; fabric; old shirts; old pants; old dresses; old pillows; safety pins; old throw pillows; old hats; twine; ribbon; and anything else you think would be useful in making a scarecrow.
