BRASELTON - Paul Kelly and Shane Sawyer put on one of the best finishes of the season at Lanier National Speedway Saturday night in a 100-lap Pro Late Model race during the annual Saturday of Speed at the 3/8ths mile oval.

Kelly and Sawyer traded the lead three times in the final five laps before Kelly took the final lead on Lap 98 and then used a high groove to nip Sawyer in a near photo-finish.

There were seven lead changes over overall and five cautions in the race.

In the other 100-lap feature Saturday, Cleveland's Jason Hogan took the lead on Lap 5 and then cruised to an easy win in the Super Late Model event.

Only four cars finished on the lead lap in a race that was run entirely under the green flag.

Dwayne Buggay took second, Shane Sawyer, who logged 200 laps on the night, was third, and Joey Senter was fourth as the only drivers to not get lapped by Hogan.

There were several drivers who got their first-ever wins at LNS on Saturday. Chad Hackenbract won in the 20-lap Legends semi-pro division; Jeff Chadwick got his first win in the 25-lap Sportsman race; and Mark Wilbanks got his first win in the 25-lap supertrucks race.

In other action Saturday, Mike Childers won again in Street Stocks while 12-year-old Thomasville, N.C., native Clint King won in the pro Challenge. In the open-wheeled modified division, Joey Love won his 13th race of the season.

The 20-lap Bandeleros race saw Kason Plott win the Bandit race with Cody Garland winning in the Young Gun division.
