LULA - Gas shortage or no gas shortage, moms and dads and kids enjoy a fall festival, and they turned out Saturday to see and enjoy Jaemor Farms Harvest Festival Saturday in north Hall County.

The young and young at heart enjoyed the pony rides, pumpkin painting apple sling shot, hayrides and the corn maze while Dad and Mom shopped the market for fall fruit and vegetable bargains.

Jessica Foster, an East Hall High School student from nearby Lula, decided to try painting a pumpkin.

"I get to be creative," she said. "I just wanted to paint a pumpkin so I got a little one."

Drew Echols ran the festival; he said customers just enjoy getting away from home for a while.

"Folks come out to see the farm, the side of the farm they don't get to see from the market," Echols said.

Echols said more people attended the festival this year than last year, despite the gas shortage.

"I hope this gas situation gets straightened out so it doesn't carry over into October because that's really our big month," he added.
