(Cleveland)- The White County Commissioners voted 2-1 Monday to remove White County Planning Commission member John Jordon from that board for apparently having different views than some of the commissioners and expressing them.

Commissioner Joe Campbell proposed the removal of Jordon, without giving a detailed reason why, he did refer to a letter by Jordon in last weeks White County News in which Jordon was critical of the commissioners, for what he described as unnecessarly calling planning commission meetings. The termination was effective immediately.

Jordan did attended Monday nights regular schedule planning commission meeting, but was not allowed to set with other board members. Jordon had no comment about the action by the commissioners.

Commission Chairman Travis Turners voted no to remove Jordon from the board. He told reporters after the meeting he felt the issue could have waited until January when the position comes up for re-appointment.
