Hall County Schools win SACS accreditation

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Schools got an 'A' from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Wednesday for quality education, quality teaching, and making system wide Annual Yearly Progress.

"The Quality Assurance Review Team recommends to the AdvanceEd Accreditation Commission that the Hall County School System be awarded the district accreditation as a quality school system," said SACS team leader Dr. Andrew Weaver from Auburn, Alabama.

Hall Schools Superintendent Will Schofield credited the people who make up his school system for that announcement.

"Our principals, our teachers and our students worked so hard and this is a historic day for Hall County schools, I'm very proud of all of them," Schofield said.

Schofield said an 18 month process culminated as the team of 11 educators from six surrounding states concluded their 3 day visit with high praise and their recommendation in favor of â
