GAINESVILLE - Those mandated unpaid furlough days that became more common this year mean a lot of people in our area will have extra time off around the holidays and it means some government services won't be as readily available as they usually are.

City of Gainesville offices will be closed Wednesday through Sunday and Jackson County offices will be closed Thursday December 24-Monday, the 28th. Hall County will use next Monday the 28th for its next furlough day.

The Dawsonville-based Chestatee Regional Library System will be closed December 24-January 1; four of those days designated furlough days.

And, all branches of the Hall County Library System will be closed Wednesday, December 23-Monday, the 28th, for Christmas holidays and one furlough day.
