Hall County authorities said Christian Cory Montalvo, 20, faces formal charges of cruelty to children in the first degree. His infant son was taken to Children's HealthCare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite in Atlanta on March 9, where the child was diagnosed with injuries that indicated he had been shaken.
The hospital notified child services who contacted investigators. Montalvo was arrested Wednesday.
The infant has been released from the hospital and is in the custody of his mother.
