More info available next week on bus fire

GAINESVILLE - It likely will be next week before more details are released on a fire that destroyed 20% of the Gainesville City School system's bus fleet.

The fire happened Friday morning before daylight, destroying eight buses and damaging another. Gainesville Fire Chief Jon Canada said Saturday morning that the investigation is underway, but local officials won't meet with insurance investigators until after the holiday. And, at that point more information should be available on the cause of the fire.

No one was hurt, and school was in session for the last day of the year, despite all of the buses being out of service Friday morning.
