Public Works Director Ken Reardon said the match free money would support creation of a 10-year energy savings program.
Reardon said program projects would include resource recovery, recycling and developing alternative fuels for county vehicles.
Hall County Commissioners heard Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh ask for approval on a $42,000 state grant for additional personnel.
Darragh said the grant, with a 20 percent local in kind match, would provide for a long needed part time bilingual staff member to help Hispanic crime victims.
Drag said the position would expire after a year when the grant expires.
Hall County's State Court solicitor told county commissioners she needs an investigator for, among other things, increasing domestic violence and child abuse cases.
Stephanie Woodard said she also wants an additional part time victim advocate.
Both positions would be funded by one-year state victim service matching grants totaling $92,000 with a local in kind match of just over $15,000
Woodard said the economic downturn and resulting stress is leading to more D.U.I. and domestic violence cases.
