GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commissioners agreed Monday morning to set a precedent and help a city pave some streets, in this case streets badly in need of paving.

Commissioner Steve Gailey said Victoria Lane, Noah's Way and Tara Trail in Lula are in bad shape; even emergency vehicles cannot move across Victoria Lane.

"These people who live on Victoria Lane are tax paying citizens in Hall County too, they pay county tax," Gailey said." We don't receive any less money from them because they're in the City of Lula."

Gailey said Hall County would prepare the roads; the city would do the paving.

Commission Vice Chairman Ashley Bell said he was concerned because the precedent could result in requests from other cities; Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenue is slated to pay for the project.
