Gainesville seeks state permit for pedestrian bridge

GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville is seeking a state permit to build its $3 million pedestrian bridge downtown spanning Jesse Jewell Parkway.

The bridge is part of the futuristic concept to, in effect, re-invent Midtown as a retail and commercial center and help invigorate the Georgia Mountains Center.
