Hall County Commission: not a time for 'business as usual'

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commissioners Thursday night got a reminder from a taxpayer that these are hard times.
Susan Collins said the Commission needs to take unemployed property holders into account when it comes to re-appraisals and the county's 13.5 percent tax on rental income.

"All I'm asking is that the county take a serious look at not doing business as usual," Collins said.

Collins said right now rental income was her only revenue source; she also asked if special purpose local option sales tax revenues could be used to lower property taxes.
