Local students earn college funds serving seniors at Lanier Village Estates

GAINESVILLE - ACTS Retirement-Life Communities, the parent company of Lanier Village Estates in Gainesville, recently awarded 28 local high school students with vouchers ranging from $300 to $500 each for their work serving meals to residents at the retirement community.

Students qualify for ACTS culinary service scholarships by working a specified number of hours during a 16-week scholarship period, and receive an hourly wage in addition to a scholarship voucher, worth up to $1,000 per year.
