Tim Evans, the Vice President of Economic Development for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, said Carbon had a specific wish list and Connersville, Indiana, a town with a 15.9 percent unemployment rate, was able to fulfill those wishes.
"They were drawn to the Indiana location by a couple of factors...some financial, some political and some that were driven by financing," said Evans.
He noted that Hall County heard of the company's decision Tuesday, as did officials in Greenville, South Carolina, a third city in the running for the high-tech police car plant.
Said Evans, "We were really thrilled to have made it as a finalist [for the plant]."
Evans did point out that Hall County continues to work on a list of about 50 additional economic development projects.
"Those projects are anywhere from manufacturing headquarters locations to projects that involve downtown development and redevelopment," said Evans.
