GAINESVILLE - Developers of the multi-million dollar Midtown Gainesville City Center complex won a street abandonment approval Tuesday night from the Planning and Appeals Board, but construction won't be starting yet.
Planning and Appeals granted City Center's request to abandon part of Bradford Street and Green Street at the development site.

City Center's representative, attorney Julius Hulsey, said right now the project is on hold; the city has to build its pedestrian bridge across Jesse Jewell Parkway after it gets State Department of Transportation approval and then move police and fire headquarters into the new public safety building now under construction.
