GAINESVILLE - Price Road homeowners wearing red shirts showed up Thursday night before Hall Commissioners with plenty of arguments against locating a giant 900 home development with a shopping center on 600 acres in their neighborhood.

Several speakers said Price Road was rural and was not equipped to handle the traffic, let alone that size development on a recession economy.

Commissioner Billy Powell agreed, saying Price Road re-widening was still years away. Commissioners unanimously approved Powell's motion to deny United Investment's rezoning request.

Hall County Planning Commissioners had already recommended denial at their meeting.
