Softball: Buford holds off Jefferson

JEFFERSON - Junior Trisha Warbington picked up her first win of the season leading Buford to a 5-1 win over Jefferson Tuesday in girls softball action.

Warbington allowed one run on four hits while the offense took advantage of four Jefferson errors. Fellow junior Karly Fullem earned the save getting out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the sixth inning. Fullem fanned three and allowed one hit in 1 2/3 innings pitched.

The Lady Wolves pounded out 11 hits scoring two runs in the first, two more in the third, and one run in the fifth inning. Jefferson scored its only run in the second.

Fullem also had a good day at the plate for Buford with two hits and one RBI. Junior Cara Cole also had two hits and one RBI while junior Chelsie Thomas had two hits and scored one run and senior Alysha Rudnik had a double and one RBI for the Lady Wolves.
