Jarrard, a Gainesville native, was a Nashville songwriter who composed for top country performers like Don Williams, Alabama, George Straight, and Diamond Rio.
Jarrard lost his battle with diabetes in 2001 and since then the concert has honored his talent and raised funds for his favorite local charities including Good News at Noon Clinics, The Boys and Girls clubs, and the Georgia Mountain Food Bank among others.
The Front lawn at Brenau University saw its first Jarrard concert this year and with a fall date for the second straight year.
