(Cleveland)- The National Weather Service, has update the winter weather information for the expected weather event Thursday. According to information shared in a briefing Wednesday morning with Emergency Management officials, and monitored by White County school and other government agency representatives, the weather service said moisture moving in from the NW along a cold front is expected to bring snow, beginning as flurries, late morning across our area.

The snow is expected to begin accumulating in the late afternoon and current predictions are for between 1-3 inches possible with the higher amounts in the northern part of the White County and at the other higher elevations.

In addition to the snow that is expected, forecasters say temperatures will likely drop into the low teens by Friday morning. Any accumulations we receive will remain and re-freezing. Local officials caution everyone there will be dangerous conditions on roadways in the early hours of Friday.

Weather officials say following the precipitation event temperatures through the weekend are expected to be colder than we have experienced this week.
