Oliver pushes tax collection plan to S. Hall group

FLOWERY BRANCH - Hall County Commission Chairman Tom Oliver Thursday continued to push his proposal for the county to do its own collecting when it comes to sales taxes rather than letting the state handle it.

Oliver outlined his plan, which he discussed at at county commission meeting earlier in the week, Thursday morning at a meeting of the South Hall Business Coalition at which he delivered his State of the County address.

Oliver told the Greater Hall County Chamber group Hall County is losing 30 percent of its sales tax revenue to what he called ‘confusion’ at the state revenue department
