Gainesville's new mayor wants bigger sales tax share

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville's new mayor hopes to get something settled Wednesday on local sales tax collections and more revenue for the city.

Mayor Ruth Bruner, Mayor Protem Danny Dunagan, City Manger Kip Padgett, and a Finance Department representative are among the municipal and Hall County officials meeting with the State Revenue Department. They all want sales tax revenues that originate in Hall County and its cities to return to Hall County and its cities.
