BUFORD - A former Buford City school bus driver says she was fired for a comment she posted on her Facebook page, and she's now suing the school system over her dismissal.

Michelle Threlkeld told Channel 2 News she was reprimanded after she posted a link on her Facebook page to an article about the amount of money the school system wanted to spend on artificial turf for athletic fields; she entitled the link "Today's Humor."

She said superintendent Geye Hamby told her she had humiliated school officials. She was fired two months later on the last day of school.

Threlkeld's attorney said his client should not have been fired for expressing an opinion.
