GAINESVILLE - Riverbend Baptist Church in Gainesville invited children and parents Sunday to have fun once again at the 10th Annual 'Super Spectacular Silly Sunday' and about 1500 people showed up to celebrate Halloween.

With 12 huge inflatables, 14 different games, face painting, a live band, pony rides, a costume contest and free food, Super Spectacular Silly Sunday was a hit and provided safe Halloween fun according to coordinator Tina Hubbard.

"It's a lot safer than going house to house, we're all contained in one area and we have police officers helping us with security," Hubbard said.

Children showed up in all sorts of costumes to give the Riverbend parking lot a true Halloween atmosphere and there were even historic figures. Nine year old Mallory Land came as the 16th Century's Queen Elizabeth.

Hubbard said the weather has always been good for the event that started out as a small neighborhood Halloween celebration with a couple of small inflatibles and grew to be very large.
