(Cleveland)-  Approximately 200 employees  of Freudenberg-NOK manufacturing in Cleveland were evacuated early Wednesday because of a fire in a curing oven.  White County Fire Department spokeswoman Ana Newberry said, the 9-1-1 call was received just before 9:00 AM.  Due to the nature of the call White County Fire units along with automatic aid from the city of Cleveland and Helen responded to the facility located off Hulsey Road.

Newberry said upon arrival of fire units, they  were advised that one of the curing ovens had a fire and the structure was full of smoke.  All employees had left the building before fire units arrived.

According to Newberry fortunately an employees had closed the door to the oven where the fire was contained.  It was reported that the oven was in the process of curing gaskets and the rubber had reached its flashpoint and caught fire.

Firefighters ventilated the building of the heavy smoke; they were on scene for about 2 hours.  No injuries were reported.
