Zachary Lee Northup was arrested after he solicited sex online from what he thought was a 15-year-old female. The online victim was actually a male undercover Barrow County sheriff's deputy. Northup was picked up today at an undisclosed location in Winder where he had drive to meet the female minor.
Authorities said they had chatted online with Northup for more than two months prior to the arrest.
Northup has been charged with one count of computer pornography and child exploitation, and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Barrow County authorities reported they have also arrested two other men on similar charges after they, too, attempted to solicit sex from someone they believed to be an underage female. Those suspects have been identified as Thomas Kimbrough and David Blackmon. Their ages and places of residence were not released by Barrow County authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing.
