GAINESVILLE - Gainesville City Council Thursday reviewed an ordinance amendment meant to restrict the use of skateboards downtown.

It's not only for skate boards; Assistant City Manager Angela Sheppard said any self-transportation self propulsion device is prohibited from the downtown square, public court yards, parking places and decks, sidewalks and roadways, but Council had skateboards in mind because of complaints.
