GAINESVILLE - Northeast Georgia Medical Center's president said Thursday he wants to make sure the hospital the medical center is planning in South Hall still makes financial sense. But Jim Gardner told the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors the hospital is still a "go."

Gardner said he wants time to make sure the new hospital still financially feasible in the wake of an anticipated state hospital revenue tax and the uncertain impact of national health care reform, but he projected a 2014-2015 opening date.

Gardner was optimistic about no appeal from Barrow County on the state court’s decision
