GAINESVILLE - Farmers and agribusiness leaders gathered Wednesday morning at the East Hall Community Center once again to celebrate and recognize achievement in Hall County, which remains among the top ten agriculture counties in Georgia.

Farmer of the Year was a secret and a pleasant surprise for poultry producer Paul Bowen, who was optimistic about poultry in Hall.

"Seems to be doing well, I hope it grows in the future and I hope everyone eats chicken," Bowen said.

Outstanding Agribusiness award winner Charlie King with King Green said the 'green industry' is emerging from the recession.

"We've managed to stay level during the recession and things are picking up," King said. "With the spring weather we're starting to hear the phone ring."
