Qualifying for July primaries begins Monday

GAINESVILLE - Whether it's for county surveyor, the county commission, the state legislature, governor or Congress, qualifying begins Monday for the July primaries in Georgia.

Qualifying will continue through Friday.

The primaries will be held July 20 and should not be confused with a couple of special elections northeast Georgia on May 11th for the 9th District Congressional seat and the 49th state Senate post. Nathan Deal has already vacated the 9th District post and Lee Hawkins gave up his state Senate seat to run in the congressional election.
