BUFORD - Five people arrested last week after two explosive devices were found in a car carrying four of them near Buford have been bound over to Superior Court.

The five are charged with possession of an explosive device. Police say they found two explosive devices filled with shrapnel in the car.
At a probable cause hearing on Thursday, one defendant, 54-year-old Phillip Duncan of Buford, said he used the devices for amusement. None of the five admitted making them.

Investigators say they found ingredients to make explosives in Duncan's workshop.

Besides Duncan, those being held are 41-year-old William Parten of Buford, 62-year-old Shirley Maddox of Buford, 42-year-old Michael Brewer of Winder and 44-year-old Matthew Henry Rothove of Flowery Branch.
