Public Safety Director talks about auto deaths

GAINESVILLE - Georgia's Director of Public Safety told Gainesville Kiwanis Club members Tuesday that vehicle accident injuries are decreasing due to a combined effort of law enforcement and public safety.

Bob Dallas was featured speaker at this year's John W. Jacobs Senior Memorial Awards for Excellence in Law Enforcement.

Dallas said the motor vehicle death rate has dropped seventeen percent and for a reason.

"Our office working with numerous partners throughout the state in the Law Enforcement, Public Health,and Educational communities has allowed us to make a tremendous impact," Dallas explained.

Gainesville Policeman Griggs Wall, Hall County Deputy Chad Suttles, State Trooper Jordon Stamey and Department of Natural Resources Ranger Mark Stephens are this year's award winners.
