GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Police Chief Brian Kelly Thursday cut the ribbon on his new precinct and a new six officer unit to promote proactive enforcement based on community cooperation.
The new precinct, in south Gainesville off E.E. Butler Parkway, is inside the Featherbone Center; the 2100 square foot space discovered during a routine security survey and offered by Manufacturing Development Director Dr. Carroll Turner.
Chief Kelly said the result was a partnership that led to the new office and the Proactive Community Enforcement Unit.
