Gwinnett won Game 1 4-3 Game 1 while Indianapolis took Game 2, 6-0. The games were suspended from Monday after rains halted play.
Game 2 Tuesday also was halted by a rain delay of more than an hour. Game 1 picked up in the bottom of the 4th inning after being postponed from yesterday due to rain.
The G-Braves now stand tied with Norfolk at 5 1/2 games behind International League South leader Durham in second place. The Indians are 6 1/2 games behind IL West-leading Columbus in third.
Barbaro Canizares and newest G-Brave Alex Romero homered in consecutive innings to start Monday's game before it was postponed in the bottom of the 4th inning due to rain.
G-Braves ace RHP Chris Resop, who is near the top of multiple International League pitching categories, pitched to his third straight no decision thanks to Mother Nature. He finished going four innings while allowing just one run and striking out four. LHP Mariano Gomez took the ball when play was resumed and went three innings and allowed just two runs to earn the win. Closer Craig Kimbrel pitched the final two frames to earn his seventh save on the season.
Gwinnett takes on Indianapolis Wednesday night at Coolray Field at 7:05 p.m. RHP Todd Redmond (4-5, 4.79 ERA) will start for the Braves for the first time since throwing the first no-hitter in franchise history his last time out. Indianapolis will counter with RHP Brad Lincoln (5-2, 3.47 ERA).
