Oliver: no 'overnight' move-out of downtown planned

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commission Chairman Tom Oliver said Monday there would not be an 'overnight' move out of downtown Gainesville if the county decides to buy the Liberty Mutual Building on Browns Bridge Road.

Oliver said if the county buys the building it first has to decide exactly how to use it and who will move into it and that could take a three year study; he said negotiations for purchase remain active, but could not disclose a possible closing date or confirm if the Commission has decided to buy the site near the McEver Road intersection.
