CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities are investigating two traffic fatalities, one a motorcyclist killed Monday afternoon and the other a man killed in a fiery crash this morning.

Forsyth Sheriff's Captain Frank Huggins said the first accident happened about 5:10 p.m. Monday on Pirkle Ferry Road at Lanier 400 Parkway. He said Roger Lee Adams, 60, of Cumming was riding his motorcyle westbound on Pirkle Ferry when an SUV pulled out of a parking lot into the bike's path.

"I'm not going to speculate on the cause of the accident," said Huggins, "but this is a classic example of a motorist not seeing a motorcyle."

Adams suffered head injuries in the crash and died of those injuries at North Fulton Hospital.

Huggins said the driver of the SUV, Diego Casteneda, 21, of Canton, was not injured. Charges are pending against Casteneda.

In addition, Forsyth County authorities and the GBI are investigating a fatal accident that happened this morning at 6:30 on Pendley Road near GA 400. In that accident a Honda Accord left the roadway, struck a tree and burst into flames.

Huggins said the car and the driver were burned beyond recognition.

"All that is known about the driver is he was a male," said Huggins.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
