CUMMING - A Cumming man believed to be part of the same group committing armed robberies across Forsyth and Gwinnett counties was arrested last night.

Authorities said Darren Slaton, 18, was picked up outside his home at Verde Glen Lane in Cumming at 6:23 p.m. While Slaton is not charged in the armed robbery and murder that occurred Sunday night at the Canton Highway Ingles Store in Cumming, he is believed to be associated with the group that committed that crime.

Slaton has been charged with the August 26th armed robbery of the Chevron Station at Highway 20 and James Burgess Road. He has a first court appearance today on those charges.

He is being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
