CLEVELAND - As we work to get back to normal with travel and activities in the area, White County Manager Carol Jackson issued a statement Wednesday with accolades for those who put forth extra effort to get us where we are today.

Below is the text of the Jackson's statement:

"I would like to publicly thank our Road Supervisor, Doug Dockery and his team for the outstanding job they did on our county roads during this huge weather event. They got the county roads in good shape before the state got going on the state roads.

Also the Emergency Management, 911 Director, David Murphy, and his team for keeping everyone informed as to weather conditions and preparedness.

I just spoke with our Sheriff, Neal Walden, and he reports that he had no serious accidents to work in the county.

Fire Chief Dickie Howard and his Fire Department team also did a great job!

Many thanks to the public for being conscious of the situation and staying off the roads as much as possible."

Most county offices and operations are back to normal Thursday except for the Senior Center remains closed and Helen Library is closed due to snow and ice in the parking lot.
