W.C. STAR Student And Teacher Announced

(Cleveland)- White County's  2011 STAR Student and Teacher were announced Monday  night at a meeting of the Cleveland Kiwanis Club at the Cleveland First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.    Jessica Anne Thomas  is the STAR  Student.. and she  picked  White County High School English  teacher  Mrs. Tera Johnston as her STAR teacher. 
 
Jessica who  scored 2080 on her SAT, and is a National Merit Commended Student will also be a co-valedictorian.  Thomas will be attending North Georgia College studying computer science.

Johnston  was WCHS's Teacher of the Year in 2003 and 2010 and was the system Teacher of the Year in 2010. . 


The STAR program is sponsored  by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE)  to recognize academic achievement of high school students and honor excellence in teaching.
